The Last Few Days

Day 2

Hi everyone! We had another great day today! Although we were all still tired and got hot again, we had some really exciting experiences with the monkeys. We all stayed positive and interested in all that we were experiencing and learning. We all rocked “Cotton-Eye Joe” with the girls at CAP, and our dance was awesome too. Hopefully we can keep up the energy and positivity for tomorrow’s bus ride! I know we will with this playlist we are making for it ?

Much love,
India, leader of the day

Day 3

Hey y’all! Today was quite an adventure, which was surprising because we took a bus to the city where we will be doing our community service. The trip started off early by us leaving at 7:20. The views were breathtaking. Literally! But it was nothing we couldn’t handle. Fourteen hours later we finally arrived at the city, where we cleaned up and ate some homemade cooking. The meals were delicious. We ended the night by watching the World Cup. #GoMexico!

Hugs,
Halz, leader of the day

Day 4

Today was the best yet! We woke up early and ate breakfast before hiking up to the village in which we’ll be staying for the next few days. It’s peaceful and clean and everyone seems to love it. We had the privilege of watching a graduation ceremony at the local school where we will be working. Speeches were given, dances danced, and lots of greetings exchanged. We learned how to do laundry in a bucket (not as hard as expected), and finished the night by just hanging out, watching soccer, and playing cards. I cannot wait for tomorrow!
